Pineapple Log Cabin Ruler

I spent today helping out at Needles (LQS) and needed something to do to pass the time between customers.  I bought this Pineapple Log Cabin ruler after winning the challenge hosted by Colourful Stitches recently, but had not yet tried it.  Tracy has the ruler and Gyleen's book for sale at the shop, so I thought it might be worthwhile to have a block on display, to show what you can make.  I don't know about you , but I"m much more apt to buy a tool if I can see what you can make with it.  So that was my goal for the day.  Gyleen suggests that you make your blocks really scrappy, so every strip can be something different, but I used one fabric for each round.  Other than the center square, which is 2 1/2", all the strips are cut at 1 1/2" wide.  So it's a great way to use up those scraps that are taking over your sewing space!

Overall, the tool worked great.  I have to admit, having never seen a demonstration, it was a little confusing at first, but once I completed the first 3 rounds, it finally "clicked" and I had no problems after that.  I like this block so well, that I just might have to make some more and actually make a quilt with them!

Now for the technical difficulties...  I took these pictures with my new iPad, then uploaded them to my Flickr account.  Now when I try and insert the pictures from Flickr, it won't allow me to do that.  The only way around it that I could find was to insert links instead of the pictures.  I know that many people directly link their Flickr pictures to their blog, and I don't know what I'm doing wrong.  Any suggestion???  I'm stumped... (and technically challenged, since I've never used an Apple product before)  Help!
